Akhiok-Kaguyak, Inc. (AKI) was incorporated on June 29, 1979, as a result of the merger of Natives of Akhiok, Inc. and Kaguyak, Inc., both originally incorporated as village corporations under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971.

AKI owns and manages lands on Kodiak Island and investments in commercial real estate, marketable securities, and is a shareholder in a bank.

Akhiok-Kaguyak, Inc is the owner of three wholly owned subsidiaries; Olga Bay Inc., 1400 W Benson, LLC., and 5th & 6th, LLC.

This native corporation owns and manages approximately 66,807 acres, including Easement properties.

AKI represents the interests of and is accountable to approximately 250 shareholders and is governed by a Board of seven Directors. All are shareholders who set corporation directives and direction for the company.
